"Getting To Know Me..." ft. Lizzie Carr

This week, in a special episode of Earth Shakers, we turn the tables on our host Lizzie… You may know Lizzie Carr from her social media where she highlights plastic pollution, galvanises communities to come together to clean up our waterways and beaches, or from news coverage where she speaks truth to power with an aim to hold corporations and Governments accountable for their practices and policies. Lizzie’s producer Stevie steps in for hosting duties to put Lizzie in the hot seat to find out more about her work as a full-time activist and climate campaigner. Lizzie describes a typical day looks like behind the scenes of what people may see on social media, she describes eco-anxiety and how it manifests for her and her coping mechanism, and for the first time she talks about being pregnant and her thoughts on eco-parenting. Lizzie also discusses climate change in the context of a pandemic, how Governments have shifted focus, but have we seen how quickly they can act when they need to and should a similar urgency be given to their policies around climate change.
