Ryan answers questions like: 1. Alright, so let’s get started. How did you get here? Starting from college, walk me forward through the different things you’ve done in your career to get here to med school? 2. How important is it to have relevant work experience to get into med school? Why did you choose to be an EMT for a year instead of trying to go straight into Med school? 3. What was the process like trying to get into med school? How did you prep for the MCAT, your applications and interviews? 4. What kind of extracurriculars were you involved in during undergrad? 5. What do you think about your resume set you apart to get selected to get accepted into multiple med schools? 6. What’s your day to day like as a med school student? Would you consider it to be more rigorous than your undergraduate degree? 7. What’s your demographic in your program, is it a lot of recent college graduates or is it a mix? 8. What was it like being out of state, are you considered out of state? Or do you have texas residency? 9. What is a DO school/osteopathic medicine and what is the appeal to going the DO route as opposed to going for an MD? Why did you choose your DO program over the MD programs you were accepted to? Any cons? 10. Beyond graduating from med school, what else do you need to do to become a doctor? 11. As a DO is there anything different you have to do for your board exams that is different than MD students? 12. What is the community of students like in your med school program, is it super competitive or collaborative? How does that compare to your undergraduate experience? 13. Pitch your undergraduate engineering program? What should a prospective doctor look for when considering undergraduate universities?
