Building trust with our bodies and the systems that'd prefer we didn't. | Coffee Chats w/ Sj

Enneagram & Coffee - A podcast by Cloud10

This week I’ve been thinking about building a trusting relationship to our bodies. Trusting our bodies is an important aspect of self-care and overall well-being. Yet so many elements of society are training us to do the opposite:  Diet culture and societal beauty standards. - A literal multi-billion dollar industry that profits off of your lack of self-trust.  Our healthcare system - focuses so much on treating symptoms that we struggle to get diagnosed and healed.  Purity culture - many of us are trained from a very young age to despise one of the most elemental things about being a person and having a body.  Overall, these factors can contribute to a culture that promotes external ideals and messages about the body, rather than trusting our own bodies and intuition. When in reality - our bodies are incredibly complex and sophisticated machines that are capable of sending us signals and feedback about what they need. -- Thank you to this week’s podcast sponsor:  Make meal planning easier than ever with PrepDish!
