In this episode I would like to take you on a journey to Porto, in Portugal, and show you what is so magical about this city during midsummer night. On 23 rd of June, Porto celebrates Festa de São João, which is Saint John's Eve. The citiziens and tourists head towards the river Douro and bridge Ponte Dom Luis I, banging other people heads with plastic hammer. Everybody dances, sings, eats barbecued sardines or meet and drinks, of course, Porto's wine. At midnight begins firework display over the Douro river, which is the main attraction and hihlight of the night.Festa de São João lasts till early hours of the following day and ends by the ocean in which participants bath.I hope you enjoyed this journey and learn something more about portuguese culture. In this episode I used films and photos from 2006 from Festa de São João in Porto. Its quality is far from perfection but I wanted to share them with you. In 2020 Porto cancelled celebrations due to world's health situation.Let's make the best of it and celebrate together online.Remember! YOU CAN USE ONLY PLASTIC HAMMERS ;)
