Don't worry! This is way more interesting than statistical analysis. This week's guest is with Iain Robertson (Rob), and Englishman In Norway! We had an awesome chat about a variety of topics including a potentially world changing project which he and others are spearheading.Ron writes"Originally from the UK but now living just south of Oslo in Norway. I have a background from the Telecoms industry where I have worked for many different companies ( Royal Navy, BT, Marconi, Telenor ) and held different positions. Three and half years ago I started working for myself as a Private Consultant offering management and project services. At around the same time I started my education as a Dog Training instructor with Tess Erngren and the GoodDog Academy after finding I needed more insight and help with my dog Baloo, a field line Labrador Retriever. Fast forward to today I have recently qualified as a behaviour consultant where I help people on a one to one basis with their dogs behaviour. At the same time I run a weekly open training where I manage each session depending on the needs of the dogs and people attending.Recently and on the back of doing a startup incubator program with a company called Antler this spring in Oslo I have taken my passion for dogs to a whole new level. We are going to build the world's largest database of dog training and behaviour. We want to improve information about dogs for everyone and show that positive reinforcement training does work. If this is something that you think is interesting and would like to help with please visit www.canisdata.com or alternatively you can send me an email to [email protected]. How shall we do this? by providing software to the trainer to set up their classes and manage one to one training. The dog owner/ guardian uses the APP/ Software to track their training progress. We are in the early stage of testing and always on the lookout for volunteers to help test so owners and trainers are both welcome. The grand vision is to track the dog from birth to death and to cover Breeders, Fear Periods, Breed Specific Knowledge, Training and Behaviour, Nutrition, Health and Environmental but this is going to take a long time to achieve. This is why we concentrate on building where we see the greatest need. Come join our community."
