E96: ”Don’t Think Beyond What is Written!” (1 Corinthians 4:6)

Exploring Faith, Pursuing Grace - A podcast by Daniel Rogers - Thursdays

"Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written..." 1Co 4:6    1 Corinthians 4:6 was a passage many use to shut down meaningful conversation about scriptural interpretation, including Kevin and Lee at one point in their lives. Any interpretation/application that bucks up against the 'status quo' is hand-waved away as 'thinking beyond what is written'.  In this episode, Kevin and Lee discuss the context of this passage, and how the actual contextual meaning of this passage is one that could foster better unity among Christians of all denominations if we only would take Paul's message to heart.   Like our podcast?
