For those that don't know Atom Bergstrom is really into something called Chronobiotic nutrition. It's also sometimes referred to as solar eating. This means that each organ has a time of day (usually two times per day) where it cleanses, grows, detoxifies, and releases more hormones and basically goes to work. Food also has the same thing. It's based on the angle of the sun when the sun first rises. The food that receives the first rays of the sun (those that are typically highest eg in trees) are those that should be consumed earliest in the day. As the sun continues to rise in the horizon its rays are able to touch foods that are lower on the ground. These would be foods in bushes or shrubs (would also include meats of most types). These should be consumed in the middle of the day. Then the foods that get the last rays of the sun (those that are on the ground, under the ground or below the ground) should be consumed at night. These would include fish, eggs, root vegetables and things of that nature. So not only does the food have a time when it should be consumed but each organ has a special time of day when they function at higher capacities. When you combine these two (I also like to follow proper food combining principles as well) it can be magic for you digestion, energy and more.
