Fearless with Mark & Amber - A podcast by Mark & Amber Archer - Tuesdays

Why do people stay in abusive, toxic relationships? Have you ever known someone who was in a terribly abusive relationship but refused to get out of it? Have you ever noticed the repeating patterns of the abused and the abusers? The abused keep convincing themselves that they can’t live without the relationship, and the abusers keep convincing them that they can’t live without the relationship. All the while, the abuser gets more abusive, and the abused looses every last vestige of self-esteem. If you’re like us, you’ve probably been on social media for a while. And usually, it’s not just one platform, either. It’s multiples, and it takes up an increasingly large amount of your time each day. But, in case you haven’t noticed, those relationships have become increasingly abusive, and we, the consumers, are the ones being abused. As the events of the past few weeks in particular unfolded, we had the good fortune to be traveling as a family and thus had a good reason to be completely unplugged from the world’s events. We had decided before we left that we were going to log off of our social media accounts and not even look at them until we got back. I even went so far as to delete the apps completely from my phone. Although we were traveling for the purpose of filming interviews for “The Mind Polluters”, we desperately wanted a break from the world and its non-stop stream of nonsense. We had already started to experience being “fact checked” by Facebook and Twitter. We knew it was not going to get any better. After two days of travel, having time to think about what the tech companies were doing to our president and the nation as they started banning people completely from their platforms while they deleted information that didn’t fit with the established narrative, we decided that it was time to pull the plug. As the computer in “War Games” so elegantly stated, “The only way to win is not to play.” It was time for us to stop playing the abusive game. And so, we deleted it. All of it. I’d like to tell you that it was a hard decision, but it really wasn’t. I’d like to tell you that we’re worried that it’s going to hurt our ministry outreach, but it won’t. The truth is that deleting all of our social media accounts was not only the easiest thing we’ve ever done, it was also the most freeing. No longer would we allow ourselves to be abused and suppressed by those who not only hate our nation, but hate us as Christians and all that America was founded upon. Social media and big tech companies are the abusers. They violate our God-given rights every single day. They abuse us with their policies and suppression of truth, and we keep taking it - why? The truth is, you can live without Facebook. You can live without Twitter. You can live without the wicked overlords at Google pulling the strings on your YouTube account. Abusers always do a masterful job of convincing their victims that they can’t live without them. But, nothing could be further from the truth. We can live without them, and so can you. We hope you’ll connect with us through our email newsletter, our podcast, and through our books and movies. The Lord did not put us here to fight a battle to be seen on a repressive social media network. He put us here to share the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ to a broken and sinful world! Leave those platforms behind. You don’t need them. ************* MENTIONS ON THE SHOW ************* RIGHT TO LIFE EVENT https://www.ichooselife.org/resources/events/upcoming-events/northeast-indiana-march-for-life INSIDE THE GARAGE OF ABORTIONIST KLOPFER https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2021/01/12/abortion-doctor-fetal-remains/ INWOOD DRIVE THE MOVIE AND BOOK www.inwooddrivemovie.com Text 'WEAREFEARLESS' to 22828 to join our newsletter and stay up to date on all that's happening with at Fearless Features!
