First Move with Julia Chatterley - A podcast by CNNI

Last month we learned from the International Energy Agency (IEA) that investment in clean energy is now significantly outpacing investment in fossil fuels. But as the IEA's top man told us, the scales need to tip much farther toward renewables, and around 90% of spending is currently being done by richer nations and China. What's needed is some kind of global financing pact perhaps to ramp up investment in poorer parts of the world which need support to mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis, while ensuring they also have access to cleaner energy in the future. Right now, more than 100 heads of state and government leaders, policy makers, and institutions -- including the UN, the IMF and the World Bank -- are meeting in Paris to talk about just that. Immersed in these critical discussions is former Secretary of State John Kerry, the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate. He joins Julia to discuss.  To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
