After overcoming his despair when he realized he could technically never grow up to be a firetruck, Alex Boyd, surrounded by a family of artisans, was encouraged to create. A working artist, teacher and jewelry-repair aficionado—the bills still have to be paid—Alex has developed textured, yet linear aesthetics at his bench and avoids as much polishing as possible.
