Ep. 83: Invasive Species Part 1

Force of Nature - A podcast by Matthew D. Hamilton

Categories:

This week we take a look at some species that do not belong. An invasive species is an organism that is not native to a particular area. They can cause great environmental and economic harm to the new area.  To be invasive, a species must adapt to the new area easily.  It must reproduce quickly.  It must harm property, the economy or native plants and animals of the region.  Many invasive species are introduced to a new region accidentally, while others are brought on purpose.     1st Story- Japanese Murder Hornets in North America 2nd Story- Pablo Escobar's Cocaine Hippos 3rd Story- Snakes Take Over Guam 4th Story- Pesky Rabbits in Australia 5th Story- Carpocalypse    Skarping video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqykDINEcGo&t=88s Vice documentary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnZp1jtOhR0&t=724s If you would like to give a donation you can on PayPal at either [email protected] or simply forceofnaturepod On Venmo is my personal account at Matthew-Hamilton-51  We would appreciate any donations very much and we will give shout outs to anyone that does.
