Women in the film industry with movie producer Alison Owen

This week Lynne talks to her friend, the hugely successful film producer Alison Owen. As a single mother in London, Alison forged her path in the film industry by starting out on student films and eventually building an outstanding career. Her credits as a producer include Moonlight and Valentino, Elizabeth, Sylvia, Shaun of the Dead, Proof, The Other Boleyn Girl, Brick Lane, Chatroom, Saving Mr Banks, Tulip Fever, How to Build a Girl and the upcoming The Witchfinder's Sister. As well as discussing her career from the beginnings to today, Lynne and Alison also discuss the BLM, #MeToo and Time's Up movements, and the need for systemic change across the industry. More and more women are becoming in charge of the narrative and we are seeing the waves of new exciting artists like BAFTAs Rising Star Award winner Bukky Barkay paving the way forward in the film industry.
