She’s the first Asian-American woman to represent this district, and the first Asian-American Assemblywoman in Manhattan. She’s been elected twice into the New York State Assembly now, winning her recent re-election race by a landslide. Yuh-Line has dedicated her work to advocacy and representation, specifically around financial empowerment, advocating for low-income families, immigrants, and communities of color. Today, she’s in a battle to save her district, where the pandemic and economic collapse, along with xenophobia and racism, has hit her area and its small businesses the hardest. In this episode, we sit down with Yuh-Line to talk about the current landscape of her district nine months in to the Coronavirus pandemic, the policies she’s passionate about passing right now, and how we can help lend a hand in the relief efforts for one of the hardest hit regions by COVID-19.    To donate, visit https://www.nioufornewyork.com/ And follow Yuh-Line on Instagram here https://www.instagram.com/yuhline_niou/ and Twitter here https://twitter.com/yuhline   Produced by Dear Media See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
