In 1998, at age 15, Kaspar became the youngest resident DJ at the Lux Frágil in Lisbon. Since then, he has toured the world, and released over two dozen records for Clone Records, Tomorrow Is Now Kid, Groovement, 4lux Recordings, RAWAX, and his own Percebes imprint. He contributes a deftly mixed hour of recent favourites to start the show. ABOUT THE MIX: I often do theme mixes, and narrative derived sequences and blends, but this one is not the best example. This one is just me having fun with some of the recent material I got this year that I’m enjoying mixing up and tapping to. It’s just my kind of approach: subtle, varied, nuanced, often unpredictable and almost always subject of much philosophical debate. LOL. Seriously, it’s just me enjoying some cool recent tunes that I feel are also influencing my sound and the vibe of my music. It’s sort of a steady and rising sequence that you can get into and enjoy, tenderly mixed to avoid bumps and make this flow effortlessly CURRENT / FUTURE PROJECTS: After three albums in one year, the most recent of which is “Gestures Of Release” on my label Percebes Música, I want to take some time out from the studio and focus on the label, it’s artists and my DJ career. We have an amazing new compilation coming out and are developing albums with / by Hélder Russo, Daino and Sheri Vari as well as up and coming talent from Lisbon. Personally, I’m waiting for my next release on a Bristol label called Phutureshock Musik (just recently released a killer record by Trinidadean Deep), that’s a more freestyle record with downtempo and hip hop beats and only a couple of broken steppers and house stompers. Also did an acid EP for Snuff Trax that has a great 2Jack4U remix, but that’s on hold because of some editorial complications I’m hoping will get sorted soon.
