HDSN is a Munich-based DJ, producer and label owner HDSN. He is behind a number of soul-flecked dance records for labels like Eton Messy, King Street Sounds, Nite Records, and his own imprint NBAST. He rounds out the show with a mix full of hidden gems. Words from HDSN: With the on going pandemic there is a lot of re-thinking and redefining on going inside myself especially when it comes to djing. Since day dot i was always more fascinated by the tracks that hit deeper than the usual dance floor bangers that would do the job in a peak time set in a crowded club at 2am but i think everyone´s who is playing records to people regularly knows the deal with that. DJ Koze once said: "a good deejay defines himself what he doesn´t play and not what he´s actually playing” and that´s very true in somehow. We all have those hidden gems in our bags that simply do not fit in a mix that you play for a club that wanna bonkers in the early morning hours tho there are a lot of artists out there that play more challenging music to the people even when you wouldn´t expect it … they educate. These are the ones i am looking up to the most like Move D or Moodymann. Unfortunately it ain´t that easy for an up an coming artist to do so like the OGs doing it cause in the end you there for making a great party... with this mix i wanted to dig out a couple of gems of mine. Some of them are great closing tracks some of them are so charismatic that they stand out too much and some are simply too deep but all of them are golden nuggets that deserve way more attention in my opinion. When the pandemic is over i really wanna challenge myself and the people i play records for to take a new approach on their clubbing behaviour and actually listen to the songs not only because they move them physically… I got a new record out now on my own imprint NUTHIN BUT A SOUL THING called “For My People” i have two more records coming out this year one of them on my shortly opened new imprint WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE and i will drop a couple of digital singles over the course of the second half of the year. First and foremost i will try to keep it a lil more low key over the upcoming months so i can spend more time what i love doing the most and that is making music in the studio till we get back to normal and i can play records for my people again. **No tracklist**
