Corners is a Ōtautahi-based producer, deejay, and the head of twominds. He has a diverse, drawing on ambient, electro, and 90s house, which he has showcased at shows throughout Aotearoa. He is about to release his debut EP Retrovision in August, the inaugural effort on twominds Records. We celebrate this release, and his upcoming month long tour of Australia & Aotearoa, with this resplendent mix. About the mix: For the introduction of this mix I wanted to start with some of my favourite Ambient tracks, one of which is Gene on Earth’s “Studio Dobra”. This track has been on repeat for me lately and it features on Gene’s new album “Time on the Vine”. I’ve also included Havantepe’s "Robosoul" which is featured on Andrey Pushkarev’s Luck of Access label. The old-school electro influence and the unexpected baseline are what make this track for me! The last third of the mix includes a couple of early 90s house tracks that I think have really stood the test of time. Finally, the closing track is one from me which will be released on twominds Records in August.
