God Is Not A Theory - A podcast by God Is Not A Theory - Thursdays

S5E7 - 7 Tenets of Reformation, Part 3 This week, Ken and Grant wrap up their discussion of the modern (or whatever we call it) reformation. They unpacked the remainder of the seven tenets to help us define what it means. We long for your faith to be encouraged and the fire of the Holy Spirit to ignite in your life by hearing these testimonies. Live up to the Holy Spirit's potential in you and prove to your world that God Is Not a Theory. We long for your faith to be encouraged and the fire of the Holy Spirit to ignite in your life by hearing these testimonies. We look forward to what God has in store for all of us living and working in His Kingdom as we prove to our world that “God is not a Theory.” Thanks for watching to God Is Not A Theory, a podcast of Orbis Ministries. Righteous people live righteously.” - Ken Fish  “If we are Christian people, we should not be able to be bought.” - Ken Fish  “We need to bring the righteousness of God wherever we exist.” - Ken Fish  Tenets of the Modern Reformation:1. Heartfelt Spirituality-Salvation is by Faith alone.2. The Bible is the Center of all Things-The Bible governs our thinking, believing, and leadership.-The Bible is a benchmark for what's in-bounds and out-of-bounds, not only doctrinally but also behaviorally.-What does the Bible call for?-What's normative in the Bible, and are we doing it?-The Bible is over church tradition.3. No More Financial Excess-Removing ties to conflicts of interest.-We can't demand anything from the Lord, but we can ask.-People cannot be viewed as a means to an end, but we are to view people as made in the image of God.-No more manipulation.4. No More Sexual Excess5. The Christianity We Articulate Needs to be Consistent with Historic Christianity-Fight for our historic forms of Faith.-How was the Faith practiced?-Continue to lift up the supremacy of Scripture as we keep our eye on tradition.6. The Priesthood of all Believers-The Holy Spirit is distributed to each one.-The gifts of the Holy Spirit are distributed to each one.-Everyone can be involved in ministering or ministry.-We need to get away from the idea that everything is pastor-centric.-It is equipping the saints for the work of ministry.-There is still order and roles to play within the church.7. The Lack of Political Entanglements-The church did not have much political power in the first 300 years of existence.-In the first 300 years, the church participated in the political process, which is not the same as holding political power.-We can't forcibly bring down the Kingdom of God.-We absolutely do want Christians in politics, with the idea that they will lead righteously and justly.-How we lead has to be consistent with the things of God.-We can't legitimize immorality.-Every time the church gets involved in politics, it becomes corrupt because it begins to side with its own self-interest rather than siding with God.-We need to vote as Christians. "God wants His church back." - Lonnie Frisbee
