S01 E09 Sarah Rosborg

Harness - A podcast by Róisín Bevan and Daisy Grant

Categories:

This episode of Harness is with Sarah Rosborg. Sarah is the CEO of charity Rafiki Mwema. Rafiki offer support and refuge to children who have been sexually abused. They have four therapeutic safe houses in Kenya. Sarah made her first trip to Kenya to volunteer in children’s homes in 2005 and knew instantly she would return. A week after her visit she was in a horrific car accident which left her bed-bound for 12 months. She dedicated every spare moment to raising awareness and funds for the children she had met in Kenya and once recovered, co-founded Rafiki, along with Anne Marie Tipper. Sarah credits social media, and the online hustling skills she learnt in recovery, to much of the charities success. Ambassadors of Rafiki include comedian Celeste Barber and blogger Constance Hall.
