S02 E09 Iso-Diaries: Deeba Syed on Harassment in Lockdown

Harness - A podcast by Róisín Bevan and Daisy Grant

Harness is back! Welcome to isolation... we are exploring how people are harnessing this unique time of COVID-19 and whether (or not) they are coping. We were challenged by Sonya Ryan (our favourite person) and the Carly Ryan Foundation to share a ‘Coronapiphany,’ namely an epiphany we have had in lockdown. We skip our news segment to bring you our coronapiphanies but you will still hear from our listeners about how they’ve been coping! In this episode we chat to Deeba Syed, an employment lawyer and political activist based in the UK. Deeba works alongside Rights of Women and runs their free advice line for women sexually harassed at work. Her work is incredibly vital and we wanted her perspective on how lockdown has affected victims of domestic abuse and those who have been harassed in the workplace.
