Cartier wanted to continue the family tradition of offering only the best and largest diamonds to the most exclusive and wealthy customers, but with a background history as tormented and bloody as the stone he was determined to buy, who would take the chance on purchasing such an item? Throughout its troubled existence since it's discovery, this particular diamond had garnered a reputation of being cursed...but surely that was just a myth...wasn't it???
