Andrea Perron’s Book, House of Darkness, House of Light: This three-part memoir, written by Andrea Perron, chronicles her family’s real-life experiences living in the haunted Arnold Estate (now known as the Conjuring House). The memoir explores the decade-long haunting in vivid detail, focusing on the paranormal events that the family endured from 1970 to 1980. The book provided key inspiration for The Conjuring movie, although the film takes creative liberties. Perron’s book delves much deeper into the family's encounters with spirits, including her belief that not all the entities were malevolent. Source: AuthorHouse AuthorHouse . The Movie The Conjuring and Its Connection to the Perron Family: The Conjuring (2013), directed by James Wan, was largely based on the Perron family’s experiences as documented by Ed and Lorraine Warren. While the movie heightened certain aspects for dramatic effect, like the intense exorcism scene and the portrayal of Bathsheba Sherman as the main antagonist, it was directly inspired by Andrea Perron’s accounts and the Warrens' investigation of the home. Perron has acknowledged the film captures the emotional essence of their story but maintains that the real events were even more terrifying than what is depicted on screen.
