Hey Sweet Friend, I hope you had a wonderful weekend full of all the summer vibes. As I prepped for today's show I wanted to touch on a topic that is near & dear to my heart. Why? Well because I'm seeing more & more ladies come to me with orthorexia & I spent years & years of my life struggling with the same exact thing. According to the National Eating Disorder Association, orthorexia was deemed a term in 1998 & is the obsession with proper or "healthy" eating. Even though orthorexia is not classified as a clinical eating disorder, 21-57% of the population engage in these dangerous behaviors & distortions around food. Ask yourself: "Am I rigid with food that I limit myself to only allow certain options with certain ingredients? Do I view my eating as the best way & that I am a "clean eater", feeling somewhat superior around food choices & others? The problem with wellness culture today is that we have become so engrained to believe what everyone around us says is "healthy", so we adapt to that version of us. But sis, this can do way more harm that good. If your path to physical health requires harm to your mental health, then is it truly "healthy" at all? I think not...
