When men’s advocates discuss either male experiences of sexual violence, or the subject of false allegations, we’re often answered with claims that sexual violence is a highly prevalent set of crimes that are disproportionately perpetrated by men. These claims are usually bolstered by conviction statistics and one survey from a gender-studies class in which a feminist professor’s interpretation of respondents’ answers was widely exaggerated in media. What happens when women are asked about their use of aggression in sexual contexts, or their aggressive motivations for sex?
