The Gift of Depression With Regena Rosa

Hope to Recharge - A podcast by Matana Poupko Jacobs

Often we do what we feel like we “should do” instead of leaning into what feels truly right for us. Perhaps we do not fully trust what we tell ourselves for fear of being judgement or perhaps maybe mistakes. Or we have simply been conditioned to respond to what is going on around us instead of tuning in to what our intuition is trying to say.   This week I had the incredible honor of connecting with Regena Rosa about what she has learned through her journey thru depression and why she says that she is actually grateful for her experience with it.   Regena vividly explains what depression felt like in her body describing it like “heavy bricks on top of” her body. She shares with us the moment that she realized that her “mind was not functioning properly” and why she believes that she needed to experience that depth of pain in order to fully change.   We talk about giving yourself permission to see your thoughts in a new way, having a new experience with them, as if a witness watching from outside the experience.  She shares, how she allowed help from others and how it helped her get healed and back to a healthy, happy lifestyle. She shares the struggles of denying the pain, and the "lie" of thinking ONE can change on their own. Why depression truly is a wound that you simply cannot be seen, hence why it's such a challenging experience for many.   This is such a vulnerable and raw episode what I know will help so many of you to not feel alone in your struggles.
