Edmond (Episode 158) - Hot Date with Dan and Vicky
Director Stuart Gordon, known for creating the body horror classics Reanimator and From Beyond, reunited with writer David Mamet to direct the film adaptation of the controversial playwright's one act play Edmond. Gordon and Mamet were colleagues in the Chicago theater scene and first collaborated on the original staging of the writer's Sexual Perversity in Chicago. In Edmond, William H. Macy plays the title character, a misanthropic bigot being put through a dark night of the soul on his way to elightenment. The cast includes Julia Stiles, Joe Mantegna, Rebecca Pidgeon, Denise Richards, and Bokeem Woodbine. Dan and Vicky discuss the film along with lots of recently seen including Barbarian, Don't Worry Darling, Bros, 1973's The Last of Sheila, See How They Run, the Goodnight Mommy remake and Hulu's Reboot.
