Much like the children of Israel, who looked to Moses, it’s possible for the disciples of Yeshua: to be called out; delivered; know the truth; be in covenant relationship; all the while the remnants of the old man, having not fully mortified the deeds of the flesh, remain. As such, though you’re not in Egypt, because it socialised you, the environment and circumstances having formed your character, can defibrillate the old man at a moments notice. Israel became a colony of Egypt in the wilderness, through the retention of it’s citizenry. As a result, it needed to be born again and a new reformed Israel continue the journey to the promised land.
