The Black Muslim Lecture Series (BMLS) aims to bring to New York City monthly talks and performances highlighting the voices and perspectives of Black Muslim scholars and artists. In our third BMLS event of 2022, Amir Sulaiman—a Grammy-nominated poet, recording artist, Harvard Fellow, and producer, screenwriter for film and television—takes us on a deeply spiritual and heartfelt journey through his life and his works, revealing the agony and the ecstasy of his creative process and what it means to be a Muslim artist in today’s world.
