ABOUT TOM WATERHOUSE: Tom Waterhouse has a 20+ year track record of starting, scaling, selling and investing in businesses. He is an experienced Founder, CEO and Investor. Tom comes from a long line of bookmakers dating back four generations. The Waterhouse family has been at the forefront of the wagering industry for over 100 years. In 2019, Tom launched WaterhouseVC.com, which manages a wholesale fund that specialises in investments in the gaming/wagering industry. Tom is the Chief Investment Officer of the fund, which invests in global wagering and gaming businesses on behalf of long-term investors. In 2018, Tom co-founded Listed Reserve, a wholesale fund specialising in decentralised technologies and related assets. In 2020, Tom launched the WaterhouseTips.com odds comparison app, which allows punters to have one app to bet with multiple bookies. In 2021, the tipping business and odds comparison app moved to WaterhouseTips.com Tom’s entry to the wagering industry was in 2003, when he received his bookmakers license while completing a Bachelor of Commerce, Liberal Studies (majoring in Finance), at the University of Sydney at the age of 20. He rearranged his university timetable to attend as many race meetings as possible, and by 2008 was Australia’s largest and most profitable on-course bookmaker with turnover exceeding $200m per year. In 2010, Tom launched the online sports betting business TomWaterhouse.com. Within two years this became one of the largest Australian online sports betting companies. TomWaterhouse.com in this time grew from a start up with three people to over 100 and from less than 1,000 clients to approximately 250,000. In August 2013, the business was sold to William Hill, (Tom, continued as Managing Director of TomWaterhouse.com). In July 2014, Tom became CEO of William Hill Australia in charge of the TomWaterhouse.com, Centrebet, Sportingbet and William Hill brands operating from three countries with approx. 500 employees, one million clients and over two billion dollars in turnover. In 2018 William Hill Australia was acquired by Stars Group and Tom purchased back TomWaterhouse.com.
