According to a recent article in Business News Daily, the top three most stressful jobs in America are; enlisted military personnel, firefighter, and airline pilot.  The factors used to determine this list include things like physical demands, on-the-job hazards, environmental conditions, and the risk of personal injury. As firefighters and EMS professionals, we might be surprised that our profession is in the top three, but we certainly aren’t surprised that we’ve made the list. As a new year is upon us, we typically take that as an opportunity to look at our current situation and make a plan for change if needed.  Before we can effectively decide what changes need to be made, we need to take a real look at the things that aren’t serving us, or worse, hurting us. In today’s episode, I will talk about self care & coping mechanisms, what they are, and what we can do to make sure we have systems in place to effectively help us make those positive strides we’re hoping to make in 2022. -- IGNITEd Firefighter Podcast Facebook Group IGNITEd Readers Book Club Zoom Meeting --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ignitedff/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ignitedff/support
