Want to become more heart-centered? We invite you to join us on Deb’s Dailies (daily blog and newsletter), a daily reflection on living and loving life as a heart-centered leader.Dr. Mary Jo Burchard is a change leadership coach and consultant currently living in Virgian Beach, VA. MJ’s journey started in higher ed, teaching organizational leadership.During that time, she and her husband adopted a little boy from Ukraine, whose childhood involved more surgeries than grades. This experience shaped her understanding of what impact belonging has on being able to tell the truth about who we are, what we need, and the power of caring deeply enough about people to accept them fully as they are.Her doctoral work involved the impact of high-octane altruistic leaders who are impacted by unprocessed trauma. She noticed that these kinds of people tend to pour everything into their role and let the rest of their personhood become dormant. She likes to tell the leaders she coaches to “AirDrop her into the messy” and let’s work on being humane as possible while we walk through non-negotiable tough things.Connect with Dr. Mary Jo at:https://concordleader.com/https://twitter.com/maryjoburchardhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/maryjoburchard/ This is a public episode.
