Sometimes you've got to throw out predetermined conventions and just go with something that can redefine our expectations....On this episode we look into something which manages to take a genre that was previously thought of as ugly and turn it into something very engaging.  It's time for 'The Outwaters'This film takes viewers off the beaten path and into their own nightmares as the narrative  plays out over three memory cards found in a sun-drenched section of the Mojave Desert. The footage within is that of a foursome, who set out to make a music video while camping, led by a charismatic LA filmmaker. Their trip starts out uneventful, though their peace is occasionally disrupted by unexplained sounds, vibrations, and unnatural animal behavior. Then one night everything changes, sending the foursome on a mind-bending trip through terror. From writer/director Robbie Banfitch; 'The Outwaters' takes the found footage horror and gives it a visual spin that is somewhere between classic Giallo and Terrance Malick.  And if you think that's a heady mix, you'd be right.  We had the pleasure of sitting down with Robbie to talk about the origins of the film and so very much more.'The Outwaters' is in select theatres now and already in the Screambox streaming service in the US.
