Episode 514: In The Seats With...Katie Lafferty, Roma Ahi, 'Makers' and the Canadian Screen Awards

Is the best...yet condensed of what our great country has to offer...In case you didn't know, here in Toronto we've been celebrating the best of what Canada has been putting on screen with the Canadian Screen Awards.  This days long affair has been condensed into an hour awards showing that is airing tonight on CBC at 8PM and we whole hardly recommend you check it out...and there's a reason why.Rather then the laborious standard of a 3.5 hour live broadcast, this has been tightened up into a lean and mean hour broadcast hosted by Canada's own Samantha Bee and was produced by the production team simply known as 'Makers'.With a myriad awards being handed out, it was vital to reinvent the game.  We had the distinct pleasure of talking with the two powerhouse producers behind Makers; Katie Lafferty & Roma Ahi about the complexities of producing a show like this, trying to elevate the experience for so many Canadian creators and so very much more....
