Those great cultural divides happen more often then we think....You guessed it, we're still talking up some of the fantastic offerings at the Toronto International Film Festival which is having it's 48th edition running from Sept. 7th through the 17th in our fair city. Once more we're diving into the Short Cuts program and looking at Xie, Xie, Ollie.Feeling split between his Chinese heritage and Canadian upbringing, Ollie attempts to learn Mandarin as a means of connecting with his family history. But, as an adult, he discovers that his path to understanding his biracial identity is unexpectedly complicated.Playing in the Short Cuts 6 Program, this is yet another sly example of some truly stellar storytelling from some up and coming filmmaking talent in writer/director James Michael Chiang,We talked about the origins of the story, the importance of short form storytelling and so very much more....Xie, Xie, Ollie plays as a part of Short Cuts 6 on Tuesday Sept 12th.
