Merry Christmas dear friends! A surprise song at the end of this episode! Today I interview the Casulana Lute Consort. It is an Early Music ensemble based in Basel, Switzerland. The members met at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and share the vision to revitalize lute consort music. Their repertoire ranges from Renaissance to early baroque music, and includes compositions by the lutenist, Madalena Casulana. She is the first female composer known today to have had her music published, and the consort is named after her.
