One may ask: How is the subject of historical dance related to the main theme of our podcast, namely sight-reading? In our humble opinion, this connection is close and long lasting, and is very much determined by the context of the period and its surroundings. And why? Listen to our episode with professional dancer and violinist Mojca Gal and the founder of Les Soirées Amusantes, an association dedicated to the lifestyle of the late 18th century, Christian Robardey-Tanner. In today's episode, these unique guests will shed light on 18th century literature and explore the context of the time, dances, social behaviour, and intellectual games. Together we will consider historically informed performance practise, tempi, and other important existential questions. We will also sight-read some dances together. Aimabile by Feriol was recorded by Mojca with the help of Thys Grobelnik.
