Look Up In The Sky It's A Bird....No It's Your Commission!

InteleCast - InteleTravel Official Podcast - A podcast by Travel Advisor Training Show

We all know air is difficult for Agents to earn commission on and sometime we are subject to airline terms for pricing and price increases. When booking airline ticket using the InteleTravel booking engine  Agents can earn a $10 Travel Agent Service Fee on every ticket they book or their customers book for themselves on their InteleTravel website, regardless of whether or not that ticket is commissionable. (Agents will be paid your normal agent share of 70% - 80% of this fee.). Airline ticket commissions range up to 40% of base airfare (not including taxes and fees). Most carriers pay from 5% - 15%, and although not all tickets will be commissionable, commissions are paid most commonly on international flights, but some domestic flights wholly within the US, Canada or Mexico also qualify. However another option for Agents to consider are air consolidators.  Air consolidators contract with airlines for large seat inventory at deep wholesale discounts, then bring them to public market at less than airline prices. The airfare market in certain parts of the world is controlled by consolidators and their prices can save customers hundreds of dollars on a flight. Also can originate air travel outside USA.
