#AffiliateMarketing #IIDM Hi, there dear listener! My name is Tamsyn Ackerman and I am an intern for the International Institute of Digital Marketing. On today’s podcast, we'll be chatting about Affiliate Marketing! Firstly, do you know what affiliate marketing is? If not, here's the lowdown! Affiliate marketing is the process by which an affiliate (which is you) earns a commission for marketing another person’s or company’s products. You act as a virtual salesperson. Becoming an affiliate marketer is an exciting career choice! To get started all you need to do is follow these 7 simple steps. 1. Decide on a platform that you wish to promote the products or services. 2. Choose your niche. This can be a specific topic you’d like to focus on or even something you feel most comfortable talking about. 3. Find affiliate programs that suit your chosen niche. 4. Create some amazing content. Humans are visual beings, which means they first buy with their eyes and from there decide if they actually want to purchase it. 5. Drive traffic to your affiliate site by constantly advertising it on your social media. 6. Get clicks on your affiliate site by referring potential customers to the website using your affiliate code. 7. Convert those clicks into sales! Here are some reasons why you should consider a career in affiliate marketing: 1. It’s easy to start. All you need to do is follow the 7 steps I mentioned earlier on. 2. You get to be your own boss. This means you get to choose your own hours and best of all where you want to work. You could even work from your bed if you choose to! How dreamy does that sound? On the flip side, there are a few reasons why people fail at affiliate marketing. The most common reasons why people fail are as follows: 1. Not having enough patience to see your results: It is important to remember that affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick program. It takes grit and perseverance to succeed in this industry. The most important thing is that you do not give up! 2. Failure to produce valuable content: Valuable content is what drives traffic to your website which in turn results in sales. Examples of valuable content are answering frequently asked questions or just providing information in general. To conclude, the affiliate marketing industry can be extremely lucrative if you know what you are doing. The most important thing is to be real and authentic with your audience! Oh and don’t forget to have fun with it as well! For more information visit the International Institute of Digital Marketing at https://thedigitalmarketinginstitute.org/ Thank you!
