#IIDM #Digital #Marketing Thank you for tuning in! My name is Gabriela Camara, I am a student of IIDM, and today I will be talking about three basic elements of your Digital Marketing Strategy. So I know there is plenty of information out there about SEO, SEM, Keywords, and everything you need to know about Digital Marketing, but today I would like to speak to you about three things you need if you have just started a business and you are building your digital presence. If you haven’t thought of it yet, the first thing you need to know is that you need to have a digital presence. Even if your product or service is not sold online, it is very important to be found online when a potential customer is looking for what you are offering. So here is a basic list of what you need to get started: Number one is a complete and helpful website Your website should not only be your brand display but also have relevant information such as the products or services you offer, your contact details, and your business location. There are some things to have in mind when building your webpage, such as responsiveness. This means that the people going into your website will be able to see it on their mobiles, on their desktops, and on their tablets. Another characteristic to look for is the loading time. If your potential client needs to wait for the content of your website, you might end up losing their attention. The content of your website should also be tailored carefully, with attractive images that should be named properly, and keywords related to your business that will be useful when people are searching for the product or service you are offering. An extra bonus can come from also including testimonials or reviews from past clients. These can add credibility and reduce trust issues in potential buyers. Last but not least, a Frequently Asked Questions section can also help your website resolve some of the doubts that might be in your client’s mind. It can also make your website more relevant if it is a common question in your industry. Number two: Social Media presence Most buyers will look up your business on social media directly, or as a way of learning more from what they can find on your website. Presence on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media channels can be one more way of staying connected to consumers. Something to keep in mind is brand consistency across these platforms. The social media platforms you choose should reflect your values, quality, and core messages. A good way of thinking about social media is a digital display window with a direct communication channel to your past, present, and future clients. Number three: get your listing on relevant directories There are several tools to help your business be found easily on the world wide web. Google My Business works as a quick reference with relevant information on your business. This also makes your business available on Google Maps and displays reviews of past clients. TripAdvisor and Yelp! are sites made relevant by clients’ ratings, photos, and comments. A Digital Marketing strategy is a long well-thought plan that should go hand in hand with your overall marketing strategy. While this is a shortlist, it is a good starting point in getting your business started with a digital presence that will aid in growing your client base. In closing: if you are just getting started with a business you will need a website, social media presence, and have your business in relevant listings.
