Using the Psychological Researcher Bruce Tuckman’s 1965 theory of the stages of group formation, the following podcast is going to take you through what you can expect when you finally decide to take our brand to social media. Tuckman broke this down into stages: forming, storming, forming, and performing. The first stage, forming, is when you first contemplate, compare and choose the perfect social media platform to launch your brand. The second stage, storming, also the most important stage, relates to the different challenges you will meet, largely in the form of internal conflicts. When you’ve overcome the conflict, you move on to stage 3, norming, where you start to get down to business, get productive and make strides on your online branding. Lastly, there is performing, where you achieve your goals for your brand’s online presence and you are flourishing. It’s one thing to create a social media account but it’s another to grow a successful account.
