At the end of the First World War promises from the British Government to build a land fit for heroes failed to materialise. Luton ex-servicemen unhappy with unemployment and other grievances, particularly the high handed attitude of Mayor Henry Impey, took matters into their own hands. In the ensuing riots Luton Town Hall was burned down. A century later Jon Bickley performs his own original songs about the events that occurred in Luton town centre between 19th - 21st July 1919.
