Skeletons: The Reaper's Image

It's Always Halloween - A podcast by Lucé Tomlin-Brenner - Fridays

Categories:

In the last episode, we discovered the first images of skeletons as art were spawned from the horrors of The Black Plague - most notably the Danse Macabre and the iconic Grim Reaper. In this episode, we meditate on the endurance of this medieval imagery through a ghastly tale by the master of horror himself, Stephen King. The Reaper's Image was first printed in Startling Mystery Stories in 1969 and collected in Skeleton Crew in 1985. This episode is performed by Lucé Tomlin-Brenner. The editing, theme song, and sound design is by Pete Byrnes.  Do you have a Halloween query or memory you want to share? Call into the All Hallows Hotline at (802) 532-Dead!
