Heavyweight Boxers - 001: Addiction

We are honoured, proud and excited to open our parallel mix series 'Heavyweight Boxers' with the one they call Addiction, who has provided a 30 minute selection of pure bliss. As part of the renowned duo, Carlito & Addiction were at the forefront of the original Drum and Bass movement with Addiction having residencies at two of London`s premier club nights, Speed (later Swerve) and Movement. When not out on the road, they were in the studio producing some the most prolific music in the golden era of DnB. Together they put out material such as “Supergrass” on Defunked Records and “Just Wanna Be” for Fabio`s Creative Source. Individually, Addiction released tunes like “Bodyswerve” and “Tijuana” for Moving Shadow. The duo played a vital role in shaping the more musical side of Drum and Bass and are frequently referenced as a source of inspiration by emerging talent. They’re now back in the studio working on new music and there’s an album in mind along with some hard hitting singles, as well as recent releases on Innerground, V & Liquid V, with Addiction providing a beautifully fresh techy cut in collaboration with Villem on new imprint MURKT.
