Here’s some quick tips about avoiding scams in your inbox, whether they’re pretending to be from PayPal, claiming you’ve won a lottery, pretending they "know" your activity, or even posing as a love interest:1. Don’t Trust Urgent Warnings or “Too Good to Be True” Offers: Scammers love to use scare tactics or big promises. If PayPal (or any company) supposedly says “Immediate Action Required!” or you suddenly “won” a lottery you never entered, pause! Legit companies don’t operate like this.2. Look for Strange Email Addresses: Check the sender’s email closely. Scammers often use addresses that look similar to real companies but have odd letters, symbols, or long strings. Genuine emails from PayPal or banks won’t come from addresses like paypal-security123 @ some-random-domain.3. Never Click on Links: These scams often come with links or attachments, but clicking them can lead to phishing sites or download malware. Instead of clicking, go directly to the company’s official website and check your account from there.4. Spot Fake Romance Profiles: If someone you met online seems too perfect or moves too fast, it’s a red flag. Romance scammers often quickly ask for money, talk about “fate,” or refuse to video chat—be skeptical of anyone who can’t prove who they are.5. Look for Generic Greetings and Errors: Scammers often use vague greetings like “Dear Customer” instead of your real name, and their emails are full of typos or poor grammar. Genuine companies use personalized greetings and are professionally written.6. Verify with Real Customer Support: If you’re unsure, reach out to PayPal, your bank, or the lottery service directly through their official website or phone number. Never use contact info from a suspicious email. And if you were scammed, beware of people who actually pray on people who are already scammed claiming they can get their money back. Instead, go to actual authorities.Pro Tip: If it feels off, it probably is. Stay alert, protect your info, and don’t let urgency or emotion guide you into a scam. #elderly #seniors #seniorcitizen #seniorcitizen
