Alpay Efe is a self taught German artist of Turkish origin. He is a figurative painter and is influenced by the contemporary zeitgeist and pop culture. He is particularly interested in making the process of painting as visible as the end result. He does this using a number of devices including painting photo realistic strips of masking tape onto his paintings. He has interesting perspectives on art schools and the art business. I enjoyed chatting with him a lot. Here is what we talk about Creative heroes Making the process of painting as visible as the result.
