Tell everyone you know about your new business

Journey to $100 Million - A podcast by Erik J. Olson & Kevin Daisey

A mistake a lot of brand new entrepreneurs make is keeping their new business venture on the down low. It’s a defensive mechanism because if they don’t tell everyone they know, they haven’t fully committed to it. They have an easy out if they end up failing and can go back to what they were doing before without the shame of failing. You need to be 100% in mentally and emotionally. You need to tell every single person that you know what you’re doing. You can do a podcast, a social media live, or a regular social media post. There are better ways to do that: 1-on-1 mass communication. Erik created a written announcement, mailed it through snail mail to about 250 people he knew saying if you know anyone who can use my services, let me know. At the time, he got 1 deal from doing this. It worked well for a deal flow but it also forced Erik to commit 100% to what he was doing. — Erik J.
