When a good person isn’t a fit for the job
Journey to $100 Million - A podcast by Erik J. Olson & Kevin Daisey

There have been numerous times over the years of owning a business in which Erik has had good people working for him but they weren't quite the right fit for the job. In the past, when he had someone working for him that wanted to transition to a different role within the company, it didn't work out for them or for us. Being a good cultural fit is not enough to fulfill a role. First and foremost they need to have the skills to do a particular job that we need. If they don't have the skills it just ends up not working out. As a small team of 14, every hire that we make is crucial. We can't just hire someone because we like them or we think they're a great cultural fit. As we grow, and we have multiple roles to fill, that may change, but as of now it's just not an option. — Erik J. Olson is an award-winning digital marketer & entrepreneur.
