Singer-Songwriter: Julie Williams

Julie Williams, the excellent self-titled EP by Nashville-based singer-songwriter Julie Williams, was one of my favorite EPs of 2023, and it's been awesome to see Julie's star rise in recent months. It was a true joy - to spend time in person and get to know more about her creative journey, growing up in Central Florida, as a child of mixed-race heritage, being in a great emotional state, and pursuing a degree in Public Policy at Duke. Julie also talks about discovering the unexpected value of living with some uncertainty, songwriting in the mundane details, how The Black Opry came into her life, and Beyonce's making history as a Black female artist in the Country.
