KDMEO Episode 107 - 100 Days My Prince (100일의 낭군님) 7-8

K-Drama My Eyes Out - A podcast by Judy, Linda and Teresa

Categories:

Obligatory shoe-buying! Judy and Teresa facepalm their way through episodes 7-8 of “100 Days My Prince” (100일의 낭군님), a TVN drama starring Do KyungSoo (D.O. from EXO) and Nam JiHyun. What's happened that all the villainous characters this week? The Queen (Oh YeonAh) acts like her talisman is super well-hidden, but it turns out to be pretty lame. Lord Park (Ahn Seok-Hwan) is doing some wacky nonsense, like standing next to a target and giving Wondeuk/Crown Prince (Do KyungSoo) a bow and arrow. Left State Councillor (Jo SungHa) is counting his chickens too early by revealing the Crown Princess' (Han SoHee) pregnancy before confirming that the Crown Prince is dead, contrary to his previous affirmation? Judy and Teresa are available if any budding evil overlords are looking for key strategists to add to their team.    Digressions: 4:29 - The "Mission: Impossible" series 1:06:18 - Video games are educational, we swear!   Some Korean terms: 석고대죄: [seok-go-deh-jweh] an act of contrition by a guilty person; one strips down to underclothing, lets loose their hair and waits on a straw mat to receive punishment. This is frequently shown in Korean historical dramas, but there aren't that many recorded instances in historical records. 개: [geh] older Korean term for "fake". 개: [geh] dog. 필: [pil] bolt (of fabric).  제: [jeh] formal "I", "my". 내: [neh] informal "I", "my"; this is the form Left State Councillor uses when he's talking to the King. Technically, he should be using "신" [shin], which is what noblemen use to refer to themselves in front of royalty.    Audio credits: Larry Mullen & Adam Clayton - Mission: Impossible (1996) - "Theme from Mission: Impossible" Johnny Mercer - Robin Hood (1973) - "The Phony King of England" Mark Snow - The X-Files - "The X-Files"    Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).
