Keeping Her Keys: At The Crossroads of Modern Life and the Deeper World - A podcast by Cyndi Brannen - Thursdays

In this episode, Coyote Mae and I interview pagan author Laura Perry about deathwalking, underworld goddesses, and guiding souls (aka psychopompery). We begin with a simple ritual, including The Prayer to Hekate for The Dead. We discuss deathwalking, which is a spiritual practice in which an experienced individual guides those of the departed to the afterlife, and often overlaps communicating with those on the other side. We dig into our personal experiences, and cultural attitudes towards death, linking these to the history of Hekate, especially her roles as Psychopomp, Anassa Eneroi and Eilytheia, along with the myths associated with related underworld goddesses (including Ariadne). Lastly, we talk about the implications of working with the departed, and ways to connect to your dearly departed, while staying safe from unfriendly spirits. Learn more about Laura Perry HERE.
