On this episode we’re joined by Patrick Allers, co-founder of the husband and wife founded brand Purusha People. Unlike some of our other episodes with Klaviyo brands, this episode is entirely focused on the origin story. The quick rise to success, equally as fast fall to bankruptcy, and the rocket rebound of Purusha People. Grabbing a box of tissues isn’t a bad idea.Initially, Purusha People operated solely as a made-to-order brand, allowing them to expand with a very low debt-to-risk ratio. However, it was the ability to expand quickly that led Purusha People to stray from their initial founding belief: sustainability. Moving away from the initial passion in favor of expansion backfired, not immediately, but in the form of a slow, crippling decay until it seemed like it was too late. Listen to how Patrick and Haley not only got back on track, which isn’t an easy thing to do, but thrived once they returned to their core message: plastic does not belong on our bodies.
